I make design decisions once, so teams never make them twice.
I'm Ivan Buzanov, a product designer in Warsaw. My obsession is design systems — the invisible infrastructure that decides whether a product feels coherent or chaotic, and whether a team ships in days or weeks.

Systems thinking has been in my work from the start. Freelancing for startups across different industries, I kept seeing the same pattern: products fall apart not from bad screens, but from a thousand small inconsistent decisions. So I built reusable foundations before anyone asked for them — shared patterns, scalable layouts, rules instead of one-offs. At Canal+ that instinct got room to grow: I took a multi-platform streaming product used by millions and built its design system from the ground up — tokens, components, documentation — now live across web, mobile, and Smart TV.
A design system is a product, not a side project. Its users are designers and engineers, and it deserves the same rigor: research, versioning, metrics, support. Accessibility isn't a checkbox — it's built into the system itself, so every new feature inherits it for free. And design isn't done at handoff — I review implementations in code, because users experience what ships, not what's in Figma.
Systems thinking pays off outside the component library too. I've redesigned retention flows that measurably lifted renewals, restructured a help center around how people actually search for answers, and built internal tooling that freed whole teams from depending on engineering.
These days I'm keeping an eye out for my next adventure — a team where systems thinking is valued and design gets a real seat at the table. If your product is growing faster than its design can keep up with, we should probably talk. I'm in Warsaw, but good problems travel well: on-site, hybrid, or remote.
